9002 - HIGH VOLTAGE, HIGH RELIABILITY, LOW COST
Customer Need: A high voltage, high density power supply with high reliability for application in a night vision rifle scope. The customer found themselves receiving very poor service on supplier delivery through their previous vendor. After consulting Ensign, a decision was made to redesign the power supply to design out the old supplier's part while retaining the low voltage portion our customer produced in-house.

Ensign Solution: This form-fit-function power supply required high voltage and high reliability in a very confined space. It also was to replace a custom molding. Often this combination of requirements can prove a tough task. Ensign was able to produce a design that was of higher density than the previous power supply—smaller than a postage stamp! The triple output power supply features one 3,000 volt fixed supply combined with two adjustible output supplies. The new design was so reliable it could function during testing without encapsulation in open air without arcing. With encapsulation added, the power supply has proved to be especially stable and a cost effective solution. Furthermore, the customer is receiving outstanding service and delivery through one of Ensign's established assembly partners.
