Need: The customer was purchasing military
grade power supplies which resulted in substantial costs. The application
is part of a packaging shipping crate for medical vacuum systems. Since
the power supply was disposed of after delivery, our customer was looking
for a more cost-effective solution.
Ensign Solution: Ensign recommended a COTS,
Commercial Off-The-Shelf, solution to deliver substantial cost savings
without compromising system performance. This medical application required
3000 volts to maintain a vacuum environment during shipment. Power supply
failure in this situation would result in product failure. Ensign delivered
a power supply featuring extremely high efficiency and very long battery
life. Ensign's custom solution resulted in one-third the cost for outstanding
cost savings.
