9027 - UNIVERSAL INPUT POWER SUPPLY
Customer Need: A power supply for a ruggedized military computer system. The Sun work station needed the ability to work anywhere in the world from universal AC input or vehicle DC input. The customer was looking for a supplier with a proven track record with this particular technology and the ability to invest significant capital in the development process while meeting specific cost goals.

Ensign Solution: The 9027 power supply was designed to operate from universal AC input and has power factor correction. It also has capability to operate with 28 VDC input. The power supply contains internal batteries and charger to provide up to 15 minutes of operation at full load. The outputs are 3.3V @ 90A, 5.0V @ 70A, +12V @ 12.5A, -12V @ 0.5A, and 5.0V @ 1.5A with a rated output power of 700W.
